New Jersey: Things to Do and See

  1. Atlantic City Boardwalk: Atlantic City is considered the "Gambling Capital of the East Coast”. You can try your luck in gambling at some of the best casinos including Atlantic club, Bally’s, Borgata, Caesars, Golden Nugget, Trump Plaza, and many more. You can also enjoy the Atlantic City Boardwalk which was the first boardwalk in the United States. The Boardwalk is the lifeline of the coastal city and the path that runs along an 8mi (13km) stretch of beach where tourists sunbathe, picnic and swim. The boardwalk strip contains as many as Casino/hotels as well as retail stores, restaurants, and amusements. Famous attractions include the Boardwalk Hall, House of Blues, and the Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum.
  2. Ocean City: Ocean City is a place where you can enjoy eight miles of shiny ocean and bay beaches, all meticulously maintained. The 2.5 miles of boardwalk contains many family amusements like Gillian's Island Golf & Water Park, Wonderland Pier, and music pier. You can also take a ride on the 140-foot Ferris wheel with views of Ocean City and the surrounding areas from the top.
  3. Cape May: Cape May is a very magnificent and vibrant city located at the southern tip of the famous Cape May Peninsula, where Delaware Bay meets with the expansive Atlantic Ocean in Cape May County. While in Cape May you can swim, sunbathe or fish in any of its stunning beaches such as the Higbee Beach, Poverty Beach, Sunset Beach or the Cape May Beach. You can also visit any of the city's impressive museums and lighthouses such as Cape May Firemen's Museum, Cape May Lighthouse or the Colonial House.
  4. New Jersey State Museum: Established in the year 1895 and located along 205 West State Street in Trenton, the New Jersey State Museum stands out as one of the oldest and largest museums not only in New Jersey, but also in the US. Explore the museum's Archaeology & Ethnography, Fine Art, Natural History and the Planetarium to marvel at its vast collection of items. 
  5. Casino Pier and Breakwater Beach Water Park: If you traveling with kids, then the Casino Pier and Breakwater Beach Water Park is the best place to take them for memorable enjoyment. Here, you can ride in any of the state-of-the-art rides or enjoy a spectacular views of the surrounding area from the park's 170-feet tall Skyscraper.
  6. Six Flags Great Adventure and Wild Safari: With its numerous rides, fun-packed events and other entertainment options, the Six Flags Great Adventure & Wild Safari stands out as one of the best family-friendly attractions in New Jersey. It has 3 categories of rides: thrill rides, kids' rides and family rides. If you are hungry or thirsty after a thrilling ride, you can take some snacks or drinks at Johnny Rockets Shakes & Fries. 
  7. Battleship New Jersey: Regarded as America's most decorated museum, Battleship New Jersey is currently one of the most exciting museums in New Jersey. It is always open for overnight encampments, daytime tours and a wide variety of fascinating events. Apart from seeing the exhibits of artifacts from the battleship's past or exploring the ship's legendary 16-inch Gun Turret, you can also climb and descend the steep stairs and eat in the original mess halls. 
  8. Liberty State Park: Liberty state Park is an outstanding green oasis found in the Middle northern New Jersey. The park is located near a number of other notable attractions such as the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Manhattan Skyline. The park offers a number of state-of-the-art facilities suitable for biking, rollerblading and jogging. You can also get a glimpse of the park's monuments and memorials such as the Liberation and the Empty Sky.
  9. Liberty Science Center: Liberty Science Center is a learning center and interactive science museum found inside the Liberty State Park. While inside the museum, you can gain access to numerous educational resources, science exhibits, IMAX Dome Theater and the Hoberman Sphere. Its notable science exhibits include the Infection Connection, Eat and Be Eaten and the Wildlife Challenge.
  10. Adventure Aquarium: You can roll up your sleeves and prepare for a thrill at the Adventure Aquarium, which is located in Camden. The aquarium features total tank volume of more than 2 million gallons of water and over 6,000 species of animals. You can watch the penguins, hippos, sharks or the over 25 species of African birds.
  11. Lucy the Elephant: Located along the beach in Josephine Harron Park in Margate, New Jersey, the world's greatest elephant stands strong, beautiful and picturesque for just about anyone who would want to take a lovely photo op. You will get to climb a spiral staircase inside Lucy and you will get to learn more about her and the rest of the park during the guided tours.
